Brigitte Espenschied (Esmerelda): Brigette is delighted to be performing in her first ever Utah production at West Works. Recent credits include Cinderella in Into the Woods and Luci in The Telephone, both productions of Saddleback College in Southern California. She is a student at Utah Valley University currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Theatre Arts.
Curtis Fred Nash (Quasimodo): Curtis is excited to return to the stage as Quasimodo in this production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. A native of West Valley City, Curtis has appeared in numerous productions throughout the Salt Lake Valley before he and his wife moved to Eagle Mountain nearly five years ago. Curtis has appeared on stage as “Percy” in The Scarlet Pimpernel, “John Adams” in 1776, and as “Mr. Collins” in the regional premier of Pride and Prejudice: The Musical. Curtis would like to thank each of you for coming out to see “Hunchback” here at West Works Theatre and hopes that you will return and see many more productions ‘Out Here’ in Eagle Mountain, Utah.
Josh Egbert (Phoebus/Ensemble): Josh is excited to be performing with West Works Theatre company in his very first concert musical. He was recently seen as Marquis Evremonde in A Tale of Two Cities at the Hale, Chauvelin in The Scarlet Pimpernel and Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, both at the Scera, and was seen as a soloist with the Draper Philharmonic Orchestra at Abravanel Hall. You can also come catch him this September as Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd at the Harman Theatre in West Valley City, and later this holiday season as Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol at the Sandy Hale. He sends a huge hug and kiss to Sarah and Charlie for their endless support in his endeavors!
Amanda Frisby Johnson (Florika/Emseble): Amanda is so excited to be a part of this production! This story and music mean so much to her and could not have come into her life at a better time. Past roles include Adele in Die Fledermaus (UVU), Amanda Hugginkiss in Sunday School Musical (Desert Star Playhouse), and a caroler in A Christmas Carol (Orem Hale). Special thanks to her husband James for his constant support. "Enjoy the show!!"
Emily Nash (Madame/Ensemble): After some time away from the stage (along with the rest of the world due to the pandemic) Emily is delighted to be taking part in such a wonderful production with an incredibly talented group of people (including her magnificent husband). With the hard work the cast and crew has put in, she knows that you will enjoy the show! Stay safe and healthy out there.
Mariah Plitt (St. Aphrodisius/Ensemble): Mariah is so excited to be participating in another show at West Works Theatre! She has previously performed as Irene in The Princess and the Goblin and Slightly in Peter Pan. Mariah graduated with a degree in theatre performance and has most recently been working as a choreographer for Matilda at Alpine Community Theatre as well as teaching kids in the ACT program. She (like most of us) has an extreme passion for musical theatre and enjoys participating in West Works productions and contributing to their incredible storytelling. Mariah would like to give special gratitude to Zach, Callie, and Finn who have been the biggest support and to Aubrey, who continually gives her chances to do something awesome!
Angie Rawlings (Frederick/Ensemble): Angie is delighted to play the part of Frederic/Principle 3 in West Works Theatre’s production of Hunchback of Notre Dame. Her most recent roles include a nun in Sister Act, Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, and Mrs. Paroo in The Music Man. Angie recently graduated from UVU with a degree in Criminal Justice, but her biggest accomplishment was fighting and beating cancer while finishing up her degree. She is grateful for the health and time she now has to focus on her love for theatre. She wishes to thank her friends and family for always supporting her in everything she does.
Kim Cardwell (Ensemble): Kim is so excited to join the cast of Hunchback. Kim has sung in several productions during her youth, but took a 30-year hiatus from performing to raise her family. Kim loves singing and creating music and is so blessed to be in the cast. In her spare time, Kim enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, advocating for those in need, and baking.
Scott Shill (Ensemble): Scott is thrilled to be in his second production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame in as many years. A native of Portland, Oregon, Scott spent most of his youth in and around the stage. Past shows include: Into the Woods (twice), Arsenic and Old Lace, Fiddler on the Roof, The Man of La Mancha, Inspecting Carol, The Fantasticks, and A Christmas Carol.
Desmond Walker (Ensemble): Desmond is doing his first production with West Works Theatre as a Bass in the choir. Favorite roles include Sergei in Matilda the Musical and The Production Singer in Singin in the Rain. Desmond plays flute and piccolo, and currently attends UVU as he pursues his BFA in Musical Theatre.
